The Journey – Paul

 Dear ones,

Like many before me I was impacted by the hypocrisy of a few “religious” men during my formative years. Unfortunately, rather than seeing these individuals as examples of the sinful nature of mankind and our desperate need for a personal relationship with Christ, I choose instead to run away from Christianity in general.

As one of the many musicians who started their careers during the experimental 60’s, I looked for truth in all the wrong places. Due to these experiences, and my belief that I intrinsically recognized truth, I followed a path that led me through many philosophical as well as spiritual directions which were to say the least, dangerously misleading. I was one of the many individuals who came to believe then, as many still do today that all roads lead to God. Though misdirected in its ultimate targeted goal it does suggest one truth…that eventually all roads do, in fact, lead to God. The real question is where do they lead from there? Will God Almighty be pleased with you when you stand before Him? Will your good works hold up? Or will He say, “Depart from Me, I never knew you!”

The world’s one religion view of spirituality would have us believe that Jesus was one of many profits who were sent by God to minister to their own indigenous area of the world with their own unique doctrine. By believing in this philosophical position we, in fact, are calling the Gospel of Jesus Christ a lie! In the New Testament of the Holy Bible, Book of John, Chapter 14, verse 6, Jesus reveals this simple truth: “I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me”. (NKJV)

Before I made peace with God, I had a feeling of emptiness in the core of my being; it was an emptiness which I later found could only be filled by His Holy Spirit. I am eternally grateful to God, my Abba Father for revealing His plan of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ to me. It was not because I’m so smart, such a good person or such a devout student of scripture. It was only by His amazing grace, love, and mercy that my eyes were finally opened.

In October of 1986, I received Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. Through my repentance and acceptance of who He truly is, I became born again by His Holy Spirit. He has blessed my life in more ways than I can count and has graciously allowed me to share in the joy of witnessing His life changing Gospel at work in the lives of others around me. He is the Alpha and the Omega and His Love knows no end.

To quote my friend Dennis Agajanian, “Jesus Christ is a bigger Savior than all of your sins”.

I pray that you too have received the free gift of eternal life which Christ alone can offer.

In His name,

Paul
